Wednesday Evening update 08/01/2014

Hi friends

We praise God for His faithfulness and we are thankful to you all for your continued prayers and support.

Well we started the new year as we mean to go on by giving thanks to God and showing love to those who need it the most.

We had a blessed night we fed over 60 guests, we gave out over 60 items of clothing and it was a great start to the new year.   We had an incident involving two of our beloved brothers who are in pain, but by the Grace of God we got through it. We were blessed though as we now have street doctors who are doing outreach so those in need can speak to them before or after they have eaten. So now on a Wednesday evening they have access to people to pray with, fellowship with Christians, assessments for accommodation, clothing, food… AND NOW DOCTORS!!! We are really blessed with what we have to offer our beloved brothers and sisters.  The evening came to a close and we prayed the evening out. Please pray for a young couple who are awaiting a decision for a bond that can get them their own place. This young couple will be facing homelessness otherwise.

As we wrapped things up 2 of us went out onto the streets for the outreach, within 20 seconds of us leaving we saw a sister on the street corner. We approached her and asked if she was ok, she knew who about us which shows that we are really making an impact and we got chatting, we then went and spoke to another beloved sister who has suffered a terrible assault and as a result it has effected her outlook on herself, we chatted and extended her an invitation to come to church, the chat we had was short but meaningful for all of us. Afterward we got a hug and kiss from her and went on our way (this is what it is about, showing love to those who need it). We walked and prayed for the streets and for those who are on it. We then saw another sister who is familiar to us. We got chatting and it was an emotional time. We felt His presence strong that night which is how we are able to do what we do. By His strength, not our own.

Prayer points:

Our brother who was in pain that was involved in the incident at the start of the evening.

The young couple who are awaiting a decision for a bond and who may face homelessness otherwise.

Our beloved sisters on the street corners who is vulnerable, who suffer greatly and those who are willing to pray with us and ask us to remember them in our prayers.

Your prayers are important to our work and they are appreciated.

As Paul wrote to the Colossians, “Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains. Pray that I may proclaim it clearly, as I should“. (Colossians 4:2-4) .

Thank you all and may God bless you in your daily lives.

Real Hope.
