A Christmas of REAL HOPE.

She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins. All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: “The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel” (which means “God with us”). Matt 1:21-23

We must remember that when we are sad or when we are happy.
When we are alone or when we are around loved one.
When we are struggling or when we are thriving.
Whatever the situation God is with us, as our God and comforter.

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For as we share abundantly in Christ’s sufferings, so through Christ we share abundantly in comfort too”. 2 Corinthians 1:3-5

As we draw to a close and prepare for 2017 we remember the great things that God has blessed us with this year. We are still blessed that we have each other as our team and that we are remaining as  strong and determined as ever to show those who are in pain the love of Jesus. We are seeing new people come who are suffering from all kinds of life controlling issues (addiction, poverty, loneliness, mental health and many other issues besides).

As they are coming to us we show them love and respect, we pray with them and try to meet as many practical needs as we can, this from comes in the form of food and clothing.   However we are also blessed to have other services with us to help support our beloved friends we have a team working in partnership with us that can help with housing issues and accommodation for the night as well as a G.P team for anyone who needs to seek medical advice and guidance.  So our beloved friends can come in for a meal and leave with so much more.
The message that God loves us, came to Earth as Jesus and bore our sins on the cross should be spread far and wide. We have a great desire to see many saved souls and restored lives, We have heard both good and bad news throughout the years which shows how much these people need Jesus to lead them out of darkness, for Jesus said “I have come into the world as a light, so that no one who believes in me should stay in darkness”. John 12.46.

This picture paints a scene for our belief that Jesus came down as God in flesh (Matt 1:21-23) that he bore our sins on the cross (1 Peter 2:24) he rose again(1 Cor 15:4) and that he is coming back again (Rev 1:7)
Many of our beloved friends know us by name and know that we care about them, when we see them they are asked questions like “How are you”? “Is there any support that you need”? “Can we pray with you”? They won’t get those questions on the streets, from the companies they owe money to, from a drug dealer or from a shop keeper while they are buying alcohol… But they are getting it from us, they should be hearing those questions more often.

We finished our meals for the year and wished our beloved friends a very Merry Christmas, We also gave them gifts which comprised of toothpaste, toothbrush, soap, chocolate and body spray. We invited them to our church service on Christmas day and we will be remembering them in our prayers.
As it is now Christmas time we need to remember that there are people who will be spending Christmas alone, with no money and nobody to show them love. Please if you see anyone in need say a quick hello to them, buy them something to eat, pray with them and have a little chat with them. It may be the only gift they get this year.

God bless you all and have a very merry Christmas.

The Real Hope team.
